I was born in Castelo Branco, a Portuguese town located in the inland centry of the country, with a continental climate and mediterranean vegetation (olive trees, fig trees, almond trees...). I was born in a farm and the house belongs to my mother. I feel Nature as a part of my beeing.
I have been painter since 1963 and economist since 1969. In 1973 I began to teach in Universty and in 1990 I became full professor of Economics. I am jubileed since 2004 an am now a full time painter. But I continue to have impetus to write articles on economic matters. For me its similar to painting a picture, because to do each of both I have to feel a great interest for the subject.
